The Northwest Mountain Challenge started in 2012. In 2014 the Triple Crown was created and Hoodoo Ski Resort was the first stop in the series. This is one of the premier 3D archery events in the Pacific Northwest, bringing together bowhunters, competitive archers, and outdoor enthusiasts for an unforgettable weekend in the mountains. Offering unique views, including dormant volcanoes, jagged cliffs and the surrounding beauty Oregon has to offer. The event features realistic 3D animal targets, challenging uphill and downhill shots, long-range opportunities, and scenic mountain courses designed to simulate real western hunting situations.
Archers can choose from single-day or full weekend shooting experiences, with both recreational and competitive divisions available. Participants will enjoy professionally designed courses, lift access to mountain terrain, novelty shots, vendor booths, and a fun festival-style atmosphere that makes the event exciting both on and off the range. Whether you are preparing for hunting season, competing with friends, or simply looking for a unique outdoor adventure, NW Mountain Challenge delivers a one-of-a-kind archery experience.
The weekend begins on Friday with a full day of shooting. Followed up with the Friday night glow-stick shoot, creating an exciting atmosphere under the lights and bringing archers together for.a unique event. Saturday night features kids awards, raffles, giveaways, and community gatherings that make the event especially memorable for families and younger shooters. The night wraps up with the Full Draw Film shown under the stars, giving everyone a chance to relax and enjoy the mountain setting after a full day of shooting. Sunday features another full day of shooting and competitive awards.
The NW Mountain Challenge is designed for everyone, from first-time shooters and youth archers to experienced hunters and competitive competitors. Multiple course options and varying difficulty levels allow all ages and skill levels to participate and enjoy the event together in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. Archers who compete in all three NW Mountain Challenge events throughout the season can qualify for the coveted Triple Crown championship.

Everyone competing in the Pure Elevation or Hoyt Archery competitions must pre-register through this electronic ticketing process.
Pre-registration pricing listed below includes a $10 savings vs in-person registration at the time of the event.

- When your register, select an early shoot time per day/per course.
- Once the shoot times are full, they are full.
- This doesn't mean the shoot is sold out/we still offer open shooting after noon.
- Shooting after noon will limit how many course you will be able to shoot in a day.
- We only allow 6 shooters per group.
